Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Cincinnati-area team. The role involves leading design work across multiple project types, using steel, concrete, masonry, and timber with BIM tools.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary staff and external clients, developing thoughtful structural solutions and accurate deliverables. You’ll impact project scope, schedules, and technical coordination while driving proposals and fee estimates with the team.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in structural emphasis with civil/architectural engineering.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• 8–12 years of structural engineering consulting experience.
• Experience with IBC/ASCE 7/AISC 360/ACI 318 codes.
• Proficiency in BIM modeling (Revit).
• Experience with structural analysis tools such as RISA, RAM, or Tedds.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across technical and coordination work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and design structural systems for buildings using steel, concrete, masonry, timber.
• Collaborate with structural staff to create economical systems for various project types.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specs per building codes.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Provide project coordination including schedules, deliverable tracking, and team communication.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with Fishbeck offices.
• Assist in preparing proposals, scope documents, and fee estimates with staff and partners.
