Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Texas is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join the Structures team in Irving. The role focuses on managing projects, developing full structural drawings, and mentoring Engineers-In-Training across heavy civil and transportation initiatives.

Responsibilities include design calculations, plan production, and ensuring Quality Control throughout the lifecycle. Strong communication, leadership, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
• Experience on heavy civil, transportation, water/wastewater, and development projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp for drawings as needed.
• Knowledge of structural analysis/design software (STAAD, RAM, ETABS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist with management and leadership of projects.
• Develop full sets of structural drawings and specs without guidance.
• Train and mentor Engineers-In-Training in structural engineering.
• Perform structural design calculations and plan production, ensuring QC across the project.
• Lead construction phase efforts on building projects in structural engineering.
• Support meetings with clients, contractors, and design team members.
• Identify project opportunities through networking with clients.
