Job summary

Madsen Associates in San Diego seeks a mid-to-senior level licensed Professional Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. The candidate will apply knowledge of structural systems to forensic engineering across residential, commercial, industrial facilities, marine and inland structures.

Responsibilities include documenting as-built conditions, performing failure cause and origin analyses, authoring technical reports, and supporting construction litigation with expert testimony when required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Calif. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; multi-state registrations a plus.
• Knowledge of building codes (ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS) and structural concepts.

Responsibilities

• Field work to document as-built conditions and damage to structural systems from natural or human-induced causes.
• Use codes and structural knowledge to establish repair scopes and perform cause/origin analyses.
• Evaluate design drawings and documentation.
