Job summary

Madsen Associates seeks a highly motivated mid-to-senior level licensed Professional Engineer to join our team of multidisciplinary engineers in the Washington, DC area. You will apply your knowledge of structural behavior to forensic investigations of buildings across residential, commercial, industrial facilities, marine and inland structures.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Maryland Licensed Professional Engineer through NCEES; multi-state registrations a plus.
Minimum 5 years structural engineering experience; strong structural knowledge.
Familiar with national codes (ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS, etc.).
Experience in field verification, drawings review, and field reporting.
Excellent written and oral communication; litigation support experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Field work to document conditions and damage to structural systems from natural or human origins.
Apply codes and structural knowledge to establish repair scopes and origin analyses.
Evaluate design drawings and project documentation.
Communicate with clients, code officials, and contractors; prepare detailed reports.
Manage multiple projects; deliver on time and within budget.
Develop and maintain client relationships; travel as needed.
