Job summary

OHM Advisors in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to design and deliver building and site-related projects. You will apply engineering judgment to develop practical, constructible solutions, ensuring structural integrity and code compliance across all project phases.

Collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers, you will mentor junior staff and contribute to evaluations, repairs, and renovations while supporting field activities and preparing technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• 10+ years of structural engineering design experience.
• PE license in Alabama required.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for buildings and site-related structures.
• Prepare structural calculations, specifications, and construction documents that support coordinated, constructible designs.
• Apply applicable building codes, design standards, and engineering best practices to develop safe, efficient structural solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project planning and design.
• Perform structural evaluations and provide recommendations for repairs, renovations, and existing facilities as needed.
• Support construction activities through field observations, submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, and technical guidance.
• Prepare technical memoranda, engineering reports, and structural assessment documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and engineering staff, as appropriate.
