Growing Firm in Grand Rapids seeks a dynamic Structural Engineer to design, plan, and oversee civil and structural projects, ensuring safety and code compliance across residential and commercial developments.

You will use AutoCAD 3D and collaborate with architects, surveyors, and contractors to deliver designs on time and within budget. A PE license and 5+ years of site‑development experience are required, with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil or structural engineering with a focus on site development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D is essential.
• Strong understanding of erosion control, shoring, and drainage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with creative engineering solutions.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to work as part of a team and deliver high-quality projects.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop design ideas using AutoCAD 3D, considering client requirements and environmental impacts.
• Ensure designs are robust, efficient, and meet safety and sustainability standards.
• Conduct site investigations to gather data for planning and design.
• Work on erosion control to minimize environmental impact.
• Develop detailed designs for site development, including drainage and shoring.
• Prepare reports, designs, and drawings for clients and non-engineering professionals.
• Liaise with architects, surveyors, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Monitor project progress from concept to completion.
• Stay up-to-date with latest engineering developments and apply them.
