Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental, LLC is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Fort Lauderdale, FL team. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer with a strong background in structural plan reviews, CMT, and building code inspections across South Florida.

You will provide technical oversight on commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential projects, review documents, mentor staff, and support clients through all construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience performing structural plan reviews and knowledge of Florida Building Code.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering reviews and provide technical oversight for construction projects.
• Review structural plans and engineering documents for code compliance.
• Sign and seal engineering documents and plan reviews as required.
• Provide technical support for Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspections.
• Review field reports, laboratory results, and other engineering documentation.
• Support Building Code Inspection and Threshold Inspection projects.
• Assist with 40-Year and Milestone Recertification evaluations.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, municipalities and internal teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
• Participate in business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities.
