Job summary
US Tech Solutions is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to join the Outside Plant (OP) Engineering & Design Group within the Electric T&D - Projects & Construction line. The role focuses on civil/structural design and analysis for transmission structures, with responsibility for drawings, field support, and technical reviews.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of civil/structural experience, NJ Professional Engineer license, and hands-on expertise with structural software (PLSPOLE, PLSTOWER,
Qualifications
- Eight+ years of civil/structural engineering experience on major civil/structural projects.
- Experience in performing complex civil/structural calculations and analysis.
- Experience in preparing construction drawings, including steel, aluminum, concrete structures and foundations.
- Experience in designing and detailing of steel transmission structures, including lattice towers and tubular poles.
- Familiar with subsurface investigation and different geology conditions.
- Knowledge of ASME, NESC, ACI, ASTM, and ASCE standards.
- NJ P.E. License and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex civil / structural calculations and analysis.
- Prepare construction drawings, including steel, aluminum, concrete structures and foundations.
- Design and detail steel transmission structures, including lattice steel towers and tubular steel poles / structures.
- Prepare existing structural and foundation reinforcement drawings.
- Perform underground duct bank and manhole structural design.
