Job summary

AME Design Group in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to guide full structural scope and lead design/build projects across Industrial, Self-storage, and other facilities. You will develop structural systems, perform load and lateral analyses, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive design packages.

The role requires 5–15 years of design experience, a Civil/Architectural/Structural degree, and preferred PE/SE licensure.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Architectural, or Structural Engineering.
• PE/SE licensure preferred; AME Design Group will support pursuit of licensure.
• 5–15 years of design experience with increasing complexity projects.
• Experience with consulting structural engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify structural systems including load calculations, gravity and lateral analysis.
• Lead projects with engineering and modeling staff to deliver structural design packages.
• Develop automated design methods and tools with R&D team.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues as structural expert.
• Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
