Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Buildings and Water) to design and coordinate structural solutions for complex projects in Orlando and beyond.

You will collaborate with architects and engineering leads, drive projects through development to contract documents, and ensure code compliance with agencies during reviews. The role requires a civil/structural engineering background with at least 10 years of experience, PE license, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years structural engineering experience in building design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or able to obtain.
• Experience with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar tools.
• Knowledge of gravity and lateral analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and discipline leads to develop designs and drive projects forward.
• Coordinate the structural design work through design development and contract documents.
• Lead meetings and reviews with agencies for code compliance.
• Perform site visits and lead construction administration efforts.
• Write and edit structural specifications, select materials, and perform calculations.
• Review documents for conflicts with other disciplines and industry standards.
