Job summary

Aery Aviation, LLC in Newport News, Virginia seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to oversee structural analysis of aircraft modifications and installations, ensuring airworthiness compliance and regulatory adherence.

You will coordinate with Design Engineers, develop analysis processes, review designs, and lead cross-functional teams through the full design lifecycle. A DoD Secret or higher clearance is required with a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

Eligible to receive DoD Secret or higher clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
Proficient in FEMAP with NX/NASTRAN and CAD/PLM software (Solidworks PDM, Teamcenter).
Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

Review and approve structural analysis reports for airworthiness compliance.
Coordinate with Design Engineers to ensure structural design requirements are met.
Develop and implement structural analysis processes and standards.
Review designs and drawings; suggest improvements to strengthen structures.
Lead cross-functional teams through design concepts to completion.
Subsystem substantiations including proof loads and displacements.
