Job summary

DRPILLA is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structural Practice in a full-time, in-office role in Nyack, NY. The candidate will manage diverse projects across cultural, residential, commercial buildings, healthcare, and renovations, coordinating with design disciplines and meeting clients on-site.

Applicants should have a BSc in Civil/Structural Engineering (MS a plus), 7+ years of experience, NY PE, strong communication, and proficiency in structural analysis software; AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master’s degree a plus.
• 7+ years’ experience in Structural Engineering.
• NY PE license required.
• Ability to manage projects, clients, delegate tasks, and guide staff.
• Understanding and application of code requirements.
• Experience in using various structural analysis software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project plans, calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high-quality engineering services.
• Attend meetings and site visits with clients as a representative of the firm.
• Lead site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and document structural deficiencies.
• Perform condition assessments, load ratings, schematic designs and prepare written reports to summarize the results of the investigation.
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
• Plan and formulate engineering programs and organize project staff according to project requirements.
• Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
• Manage project design and deliverables.
