Job summary

IDOM USA in Minneapolis, MN or Atlanta, GA seeks a senior structural engineer and project manager for industrial sector projects. The role emphasizes client service, leadership on projects, and applying structural design expertise to steel and concrete systems.

Job description

This position is related to the industrial sector. Experience in this area is required. This position is in Minneapolis, MN or Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

This individual is intended to function as a senior structural engineer/project manager. The individual must be able to demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service (internal and external) and as well as a drive to succeed. Additional project support and project management responsibilities will be assigned on a project-by-project basis. While this is an office-based position, some travel may be required. Some of the responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and perform engineering calculations, prepare specifications and technical reports, develop design details and communicate same to others. Individual is expected to be fully versed in aspects of structural engineering for the industrial sector: including the analysis and design of steel and concrete structures and foundation systems.
  • Maintaining project schedule, scope, profitability, and other project management functions
  • Assist business development efforts by applying technical knowledge to identify and understand client needs and define scope of work requirements to support proposals.
  • Coordinate effectively with other departments for multi-discipline projects
  • Maintain and expand client relationships
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum B.S. degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited University or equal
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with industrial structural design and/or project management
  • Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer
  • Thorough knowledge and familiarity in using relevant codes and standards, such as ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI

  • Very strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • $120k - $155k per year, depending on all candidate factors: qualifications, experience level, etc.
