Job summary

Bloom Companies LLC seeks an experienced Senior Structural Engineer (PE) to lead the structural design of diverse building projects. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, managers, and clients to deliver high-quality plans and documents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis); Master’s preferred.
  • PE License required (SE license or interest is a plus).
  • 5-10+ years of building structural engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, NDS, TMS).
  • Proficiency with industry software (RISA-3D, RAM, Enercalc, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Excel).
  • Excellent decision-making, communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design across wood, steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and shallow foundations.
  • Perform calculations, structural analysis, and drafting full construction documents, specifications, and design reports.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and provide support during construction.
  • Conduct site visits, structural inspections, condition assessments, and retrofit/repair solutions.
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
  • Review engineering work prepared by junior staff and participate in Bloom's mentor/mentee culture.
  • Interact with clients, contractors, and leadership to deliver quality projects on schedule and within budget.

Job description

Bloom is currently seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer (PE) with 5-10 years of experience to join our growing team. This position requires someone who is a team player who can assist with the pursuit process, communicate effectively, and work well with clients. The successful candidate will lead the structural design of commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential building projects while working closely with architects, contractors, project managers, and clients.
