About the Role
Lead structural design and delivery for large-scale advanced technology and semiconductor facilities from concept through construction, ensuring performance for deflection, vibration, and seismic criteria. Collaborate across disciplines, guide analysis and modeling, mentor engineers, and support constructability, risk management, and field execution in integrated design-build projects.
Job Description
Role
Senior Structural Engineer responsible for leading structural design and delivery of large-scale advanced technology and semiconductor projects from early planning through construction administration. Select efficient structural systems, develop calculations and models, and produce coordinated construction documents that meet strict deflection, vibration, and seismic performance criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering for cleanroom, fab, utility, support, and high-tech industrial facilities from concept through construction administration.
- Develop structural system concepts and perform system selection for steel, strut, concrete, and other load-bearing assemblies.
- Prepare, review, and oversee structural calculations, design narratives, and analysis models for gravity, lateral, seismic, and vibration-sensitive systems.
- Perform and manage advanced structural analysis including linear and nonlinear static analysis, modal and response spectrum analysis, time-history seismic analysis, and vibration finite element modeling.
- Establish and verify structural criteria related to deflection, vibration, serviceability, and code compliance for sensitive equipment and advanced manufacturing spaces.
- Coordinate daily with multidisciplinary project teams (architecture, MEP, process, facilities, construction) to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Produce and review coordinated construction documents, details, and specifications that support fast-track delivery and minimize field conflicts.
- Lead technical reviews, participate in QA/QC, and resolve comments from internal teams, clients, and consultants.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical leadership across project teams.
- Support design-build execution through contractor coordination, fabrication input, constructability reviews, and responses to RFIs, submittals, and change events.
- Participate in site walks, field observations, punchlist support, and construction administration activities.
- Evaluate structural impacts of project changes and help manage risk, scope, and change control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution; qualifying for PE licensure in the state of practice required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) licensure preferred or ability to obtain.
- 7 to 15 years of structural engineering experience, with significant exposure to semiconductor, advanced technology, cleanroom, or other mission-critical industrial facilities.
- Demonstrated experience leading structural design for large, complex projects in integrated design-build or fast-track delivery environments.
- Strong technical background in structural analysis and design for steel, strut, and concrete systems, including vibration-sensitive and seismic applications.
- Proficiency with industry-standard structural analysis and modeling tools and advanced analysis methods (linear/nonlinear, modal, response spectrum, time-history, finite element vibration modeling).
- Proven ability to coordinate across disciplines, review deliverables, and communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to document technical decisions.
- Access to and training on AI Large Language Models and vibe-coding platforms to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
- Use of industry-standard structural analysis and modeling methodologies, including finite element and dynamic analysis techniques.
- Salary range: $130,000 - $160,000 per year (location, education, experience, and licensure dependent).
- Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; 401(k) with company matching; professional development and licensure support; generous PTO and paid holidays; leadership incentive components and bonus opportunities.
Work Arrangement
- Position listed with hybrid designation (#LI-Hybrid).
