TFC is a leading designer and manufacturer of custom canopies, shade structures, covered walkways, and architectural metal systems serving clients across the United States. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team and provide in-house engineering expertise for a growing portfolio of projects nationwide.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and certifying steel and aluminum structures, hold multiple active state licenses, and possess the ability to review, seal, and oversee structural designs in numerous jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and certify structural systems utilizing steel and aluminum.
- Develop calculations, structural reports, and engineering documentation for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review and seal engineering drawings and calculations where licensed.
- Ensure compliance with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, Aluminum Design Manual, and local building codes.
- Support permitting and plan review requirements across multiple states.
- Collaborate closely with sales, project management, drafting, manufacturing, and installation teams.
- Provide engineering guidance during design, fabrication, and installation phases.
- Evaluate value engineering opportunities while maintaining safety and code compliance.
- Maintain and expand professional engineering registrations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license is strongly preferred.
- Civil Engineer (CE) registration where applicable.
- Licensed in multiple U.S. states with active engineering stamps.
- Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience.
- Strong background in steel and aluminum structural design.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP2000, or equivalent.
- Thorough understanding of:
- International Building Code (IBC)
- ASCE 7
- Wind, seismic, snow, and foundation design
Preferred Qualifications
- NCEES Record.
- Existing registrations in high-demand states such as California, Texas, Florida, New York, Nevada, Arizona, Ohio, Indiana, and Colorado.
- Experience with canopies, shade structures, awnings, solar structures, architectural metals, or specialty structures.
- Experience supporting fabrication and design-build environments.
- Ability to lead and mentor engineering staff.
