Job summary

HDR in Texas seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex building design projects and ensure constructible contract documents. You will apply your PE license and deep experience in steel, concrete, masonry and wood across multidisciplinary teams.

Based in Round Rock or Austin, you will mentor staff, craft robust design approaches, and deliver results aligned with client standards. HDR values ownership and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering is required.
• Minimum 10 years structural engineering experience for building design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Experience with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar software.
• Experience in design calculations and layouts.
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood.
• Must understand gravity and lateral analysis and work at an engineering consulting firm.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is expected.

In the role of Senior Structural Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity
• Plan and develop projects or design activities with a significant impact on major company programs as needed
• Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians
• Mentor and help develop younger staff
• Put together a full set of Contract Documents (plans and specifications) that are constructible and meets client(s) standards as applicable
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural emphasis
