Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Round Rock, TX. You will serve as a technical expert in structural engineering for building projects, guiding design teams and ensuring constructible documents.

You bring a Bachelor's in Civil/Structural Engineering, a PE license, 10+ years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS and SAFE. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration and contributing to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience for buildings.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with design calculations and layouts.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry and wood design.
• Knowledge of gravity and lateral analysis.
• Experience at an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Commitment to employee-owned culture.

In the role of Senior Structural Engineer, we’ll count on you to:

• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects; resolve problems of greater scope and complexity
• Plan and develop projects or design activities with a significant impact on major company programs as needed
• Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians
• Mentor and help develop younger staff
• Put together a full set of Contract Documents (plans and specifications) that are constructible and meets client(s) standards as applicable
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural emphasis

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software
• Experience in design calculations and layouts
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and wood
• Requires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
