Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a Senior Structural Designer 1 for a 24-month engagement in Birmingham, AL. The role requires 10+ years of heavy industrial/power plant experience and involves producing 3D models and drawings for structural steel, concrete, and ductwork.

Responsibilities include layout work, vendor drawing reviews, material takeoffs, cost estimates, and field verifications. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Bentley/Advance Steel are preferred.

Qualifications

10+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience.
Proficient in AutoCAD; 3D modeling strongly preferred.
Experience with Bentley/Advance Steel or similar software preferred.
Steel and concrete detailing background is a plus.
Ability to produce clear notes and collaborate with teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

Produce 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork.
Prepare layouts and conceptual designs, review vendor shop fabrication drawings.
Prepare material takeoffs and assist with cost estimates, coordinating with disciplines, clients, and contractors.
Perform site walk-downs for field verification and constructability.
