Job summary

Suburban Consulting Engineers, Inc. in Flanders, NJ is seeking a Senior Designer/Engineer (Structural) to lead structural design for low-rise buildings and utility structures.

You will develop gravity and lateral loads per code, create construction documents, and review shop drawings to ensure code conformance. Required BS in Civil/Structural Engineering, with PE or ability to obtain within a year, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering; PE license preferred or ability to obtain within a year.
• Experience with municipal engineering and site design.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Structural design of low-rise buildings.
• Design of retaining walls, sign structures and utility-related structures.
• Develop gravity and lateral loads per ASCE 7 and IBC.
• Prepare construction documents and detailing using listed materials.
• Review shop drawings and submittals for code conformance.
• Perform site visits for data collection and repairs/modifications.
