Qualifications

• 10-15 years of engineering experience in bridge design required.
• Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) in Florida is essential.

We are currently searching for a talented Senior Structural (Bridge) Engineer to support our Southeast Region located in Maitland, FL.

The ideal candidate will lead the engineering team’s development of construction bid documents, design and assist with business development activities.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Perform/supervise calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs.
2. Perform/supervise load ratings on bridges of various type size and complexity.
3. Review calculations and design details developed by others.
4. Attend meetings with clients and other professionals and organizations.
5. Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule and project constraints.
6. Review shop drawings and other construction related submittals.
7. Organize and maintain project files.
8. Quantity take-off for bridge project engineer’s estimate.
9. Provide oversight and direction to junior engineering staff.

What you need to have:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
2. Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) in Florida.
3. 10 - 15 years of engineering experience in bridge design.
4. Extensive experience utilizing FDOT specific processes, manuals, or guidance on bridge projects is required, 10 years minimum.
5. Skilled in the use of MicroStation and AutoCAD, experience with OpenBridge Designer a plus.
6. Technical expertise for the layout & design of bridges and related highway structures.
7. Familiarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structures.
8. Knowledge of AASHTO and other pertinent bridge design specifications.
9. Master of Engineering preferred, but not required.
10. Post-tensioned concrete design experience a plus.
