Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Principal Engineer for its Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in the Washington, DC metro area or Natick, MA. You will lead analytical and field investigations, develop client relationships, and guide projects from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

• MS or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• Significant business development experience with a proven track record.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) in at least one state.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical engineering and project management post‑graduation.
• Strong client base and a reputation in similar markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead business generation and client development efforts
• Inspection, analysis, and determination of root causes of structural/building envelope performance failures
• Conducting projects and supervising others analytical and computer problem solving
• Leading field investigations and diagnostic surveys
• Preparing and presenting technical reports and complicated engineering assessments
