Job summary

Varstaff is seeking a Structural Analyst to support the 2nd Generation New Glenn payload accommodations hardware. You will own the full lifecycle from concept through launch, performing sizing, analysis, testing, and integration of primary and secondary structures.

You will apply expertise in metallic and composite structures, conduct hand calculations and FEM, and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure successful hardware integration for a heavy-lift launch vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 6+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. per security requirements.
  • Experience in vehicle load path distribution and first order strength sizing for aerospace structures.
  • Experience in multi-functional teams to develop complex engineered products.
  • Strong understanding of composite and metallic design fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with industry standard analysis codes: Ansys, Nastran, Optistruct, Hypermesh.
  • Structural design experience using CAD (Creo/Windchill) and FEA tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own the hardware lifecycle from requirements to design, analysis, testing, and integration.
  • Analyze, develop, and test primary/secondary metallic and composite structures.
  • Perform hand calculations and FEM analyses to report margins of safety.
  • Document stress analysis to support release of engineering drawings and documents.
  • Lead structural test planning, data reduction, and test report authoring.
  • Prepare technical content and present to internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams across design, manufacturing, and mission integration.
