Job summary

Prometheus Energetics seeks an experienced Structural Analyst to serve as the primary technical authority for SRM structural integrity, FEA, and fracture mechanics. You will own the structural lifecycle from sizing through high-rate production support, reporting to the Director of Engineering.

Ideal candidates have 4–10+ years in composite/metallic pressure vessels, nozzles or grain mechanics, with strong modeling and test-correlation skills and shop-floor integration experience. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or closely related field.
• Minimum 4–6 years for Structural Analyst; 7–10+ years for Senior Structural Analyst in structural stress analysis for SRMs or launch vehicles.
• Proficiency in Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran, Patran, HyperMesh; knowledge of composite layup analysis.
• Strong foundation in solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, fatigue/damage tolerance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural sizing, margin-of-safety assessments, and strength evaluations for solid rocket motor components.
• Evaluate material behavior for composites and metallic alloys used in SRM structures.
• Characterize viscoelastic material behavior and cumulative damage models for grains, liners, and insulation.
• Define structural interface requirements and bond-line limits for proof testing and flight environments.
• Support scalable manufacturing processes to transition designs to high-rate production.
