Job summary

Datorth seeks a Senior Streaming Platform Architect to own end-to-end streaming service architecture, collaborating with product, platform, and customer teams. You will design services built on Kafka, Flink, Spark, and cloud-native runtimes, driving guardrails and best practices for reliability and scale.

We value engineers who lead cross-functional initiatives, improve throughput and latency, and mentor teams to deliver production-grade streaming solutions across regional deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building distributed data systems with a focus on streaming.
• Deep knowledge of Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, or Pulsar.
• Hands-on experience with Java/Scala or Kotlin; Python a plus.
• Strong grounding in data modeling, partitioning, and replication strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end streaming service architecture while partnering with product, platform, and customer teams.
• Define reference architectures and guardrails for streaming workloads.
• Optimize throughput, latency, and cost efficiency of streaming pipelines.
• Lead technical design reviews and RFCs to drive architecture decisions.
• Embed observability, failover, and policy automation into pipelines with SLIs/SLOs.
• Partner with SRE on incident response and tooling.
• Translate business requirements into engineering milestones and deliverables.
• Guide proof-of-concepts and customer onboarding; mentor engineers through pairing and code reviews.
