You will bring an outside-in perspective to some of our most important business decisions, helping us determine where to compete, where to invest, and how we can strengthen our position across automation, control systems, industrial software, connected technologies, and industrial services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic analyses and initiatives that shape the long-term direction of the Industrial Automation business.
  • Translate market, customer, competitive, technology, and internal business insights into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Evaluate market segments, product areas, emerging technologies, and new growth opportunities to identify where the business can create the greatest value.
  • Assess opportunities across areas such as digital automation, industrial software, connected technologies, and industrial services.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and evolving business models to identify opportunities and potential risks.
  • Develop strategic perspectives and business cases to support portfolio, investment, and growth decisions.
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate strategic alternatives, understand trade-offs, and establish clear priorities.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives from initial analysis through recommendation and alignment.
  • Drive strategic initiatives through execution by building project plans, setting milestones, managing timelines and resources, and tracking progress against goals.
  • Develop executive-level presentations that turn complex information into clear insights, choices, and recommendations.
  • Partner across functions including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Offer Management, Operations, Digital, and Services to develop integrated business strategies.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across functions and levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Provide strategic guidance in ambiguous and rapidly changing market environments where information may be incomplete.
  • Help strengthen strategic thinking and decision-making across the Industrial Automation organization.
  • The role requires 8-10+ years of strategic leadership experience with demonstrable results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in strategy, business development, commercial strategy, management consulting, industrial markets, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of industrial markets, with experience in Industrial Automation, manufacturing, control systems, industrial software and digital technologies
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating markets, competitive landscapes, customer needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect market insights to business implications and strategic recommendations.
  • Proven ability to structure and solve complex business problems, particularly when information is incomplete or the path forward is not clearly defined.
  • Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to see the bigger picture and develop a compelling strategic point of view.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering complex initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and present clear, compelling recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with practical business execution.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand emerging technologies, changing customer needs, and evolving industrial markets.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience in Industrial Automation, industrial software, digital transformation, controls, or industrial technology.
  • Experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, portfolio strategy, commercial strategy, or business development.
  • Experience evaluating new markets, growth opportunities, portfolio investments, or new business models.
  • Experience working effectively within a global, matrixed organization.
