Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO) is seeking an experienced senior strategy leader to bridge corporate strategy with operational planning across business units. You will own enterprise strategy artifacts, oversee roadmaps, and guide leaders through complex tradeoffs and dependencies.

The role requires 12–14 years in strategy/change leadership, with strong analytical, advisory, and communication skills. Energy industry experience is preferred; base salary is competitive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 12–14 years of relevant experience, including at least 8 years in organizational strategy, transformation, or change leadership.
• Strong analytical and advisory skills; ability to distinguish signal from noise and recommend pragmatic next steps.
• Experience developing aligned business-area plans and connecting them to enterprise strategy.
• Skilled at asking context-rich, nuanced questions that reveal insights and enable better decisions.
• Ability to embed deeply with business units, build trust, and quickly understand operational realities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver executive-level narratives.
• Experience with enterprise integration, strategic road-mapping, and performance measurement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate high-stakes cross-functional strategy discussions, alignment sessions, and leadership workshops.
• Bridge top-down corporate strategy with bottom-up operational planning, guiding leaders through tradeoffs and dependencies.
• Own and evolve enterprise strategy artifacts, objectives, maps, measures, and roadmaps.
• Integrate departmental strategies to reveal misalignments, competing priorities, and enterprise-wide dependencies.
• Lead senior-level strategic analysis of internal drivers, external trends, risks, and industry changes.
• Deliver executive-ready strategic narratives that simplify complexity and clarify enterprise decisions.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business-area leaders, framing choices, interpreting performance, and identifying enterprise-level implications.
• Manage and mature the enterprise strategy-management cadence, improving decision flow and integration.
• Strengthen performance measures and STI metrics, linking outcomes to strategic priorities.
• Provide strategic support for cross-cutting initiatives such as AI, digital transformation, and automation.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $157,000-$182,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

• Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.
