Job summary

Stand Together in Arlington, Virginia seeks a Senior Strategist for its Strategic Analysis team. You will advise initiative leaders from start to finish, turning data into strategic recommendations, and coordinate with experts to build compelling viewpoints.

You will lead research efforts, apply proven models to refine strategy, and ensure that all written materials meet high standards for clarity and impact. This role centers on influencing senior stakeholders and driving measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, policy analysis, research, or a similar advisory role.
• Proven ability to turn large amounts of qualitative and quantitative information into strategic recommendations.
• Strong writing and speaking skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis for senior leaders.
• Curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to see complex social and organizational challenges as a system.
• Fluency in the social change, policy, and political landscape, with the ability to learn new issues quickly.
• Comfort as a senior individual contributor who leads through influence with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Advise Priority Initiative leaders: act as trusted thought partner from start to finish.
• Lead research and insights drawing on internal knowledge, external data, and experts.
• Shape strategy using proven frameworks to turn knowledge into actionable recommendations.
• Set the standard for written work and reuse lessons from Priority Initiatives.
• Lead through influence, building trust with leaders outside your direct reporting line.
• Scale standards, tools, and frameworks to help teams plan and assess work.
