Job summary

TAR is building off-grid solar and storage campuses powering AI data centers with no grid connection. The role reports directly to founders and operates from Austin or San Francisco, tackling ambiguous, high-impact problems with rigorous analysis and execution leadership.

You will drive capital allocation, M&A diligence, and strategic initiatives, coordinating across engineering, legal, and commercial teams to deliver decision-ready outcomes. Expect a dynamic, ownership-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of analytical, high-ownership roles.
• Track record from a PE/hedge fund or startup environment.
• Ability to turn open-ended questions into decision-ready recommendations.
• Strong financial modeling and transaction judgment.
• Comfort working across technical, commercial, and financial dimensions with incomplete information.
• Clear, direct communication with founders, engineers, counsel, and counterparties.

Responsibilities

• Own unstructured, broad-scope problems end to end with structured recommendations.
• Drive strategic finance workstreams: capital allocation, new business lines, build-versus-buy.
• Lead acquisition opportunities from sourcing through due diligence to close.
• Evaluate alternative generation options (wind, long-duration storage) for campuses.
• Monetize GW-scale campuses via co-located loads or other opportunities and build business cases.
• Pressure-test recommendations against engineering, procurement, and project realities.
• Stand up and hand off workstreams after yes decisions.
