The Hired Guns are seeking an accomplished Senior Strategist of Branded Content to spearhead content strategy and development for a budding lifestyle platform at a major media company.

A renowned media company is about to launch its nascent branded content lifestyle platform at the end of Q1, and they’re looking for a super-savvy Senior Strategist of Branded Content to lead all content strategy. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the sales team on media planning, impressions, etc. You will handle approximately three new RFPs per week, along with revisions of existing ones, totaling about five RFPs weekly. Additionally, you will manage around 15 new pitches per week. You will oversee all creative ideation and content development processes. Your skill in identifying 'the hook,' crafting compelling stories, and bringing ideas to life visually and verbally will be key to campaign success. This position offers a great opportunity to develop your branded content strategy skills within a highly visible, well-resourced company. You’ll be joining at the ground level with significant growth potential!

This role starts fully remote, working Eastern Time hours. Post-pandemic, the ideal scenario would be a hybrid model, with occasional commuting to either the Boston or New York City office. However, if you excel in this role and prefer to stay remote indefinitely, we encourage you to apply!

Why You?

How you’ll know if you’re a fit…

You have 8+ years of relevant experience at an agency, media, or publishing company, or within an integrated marketing-sales organization. You possess extensive experience in cross-platform content ideation and client presentation development, along with deep knowledge of online media, marketing, and advertising. You’re skilled at creating custom proposals and sponsorship packages in response to advertiser briefs. Excellent pitching skills, especially in person, are a plus. You’re comfortable working closely with sales and media planning teams, managing a high volume of RFPs. Experience managing a team and mentoring others is highly desirable. Experience working with clients in the alcohol/beverage, fintech, tech, or automotive industries is a plus. Video experience is also a bonus.
