Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Senior System Realization and Resilience Engineer to guide the design, development, and evaluation of strategic weapons systems, applying MBSE and digital engineering to ensure credibility and resilience across programs.

You will lead cross‑disciplinary teams, deliver formal analyses and presentations, and coordinate with sponsors and government partners, with required security clearances and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or related technical field.
• At least 7 years of systems engineering experience in design, development, or evaluation of complex systems.
• Experience with CONOPS, requirements analysis, design/architecture, verification/validation, or related activities.
• Experience with SE management plans, test plans, MBSE/DE implementation plans, and SE processes.
• Experience with MBSE and DE tools (Cameo, DOORS, Jira, Confluence).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel to sponsor offices and other sites; eligibility for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide Systems Engineering expertise to guide design, development, and evaluation of strategic weapon systems.
• Participate as systems engineer on projects, studies, and technical groups across lifecycle stages.
• Apply MBSE and DE methodologies to enable development of strategic weapon systems.
• Deliver presentations and reports to sponsors and stakeholders, communicating concepts and analyses.
