Job summary

SMS Mill Services, LLC, based in Portage, IN, is seeking an accomplished Sourcing and Procurement professional to join the team and report to the VP of Procurement. The role executes end-to-end purchasing activities to support operations and drive value in industrial categories.

The successful candidate will lead day-to-day procurement, sourcing for lubricants, fuels, industrial gases and PPE, and manage supplier relationships with a focus on cost reductions and lifecycle optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract management, or vendor management in a heavy industrial environment.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make priority calls.
• Experience working with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement for operations.
• Direct end-to-end sourcing for categories such as lubricants, fuel, industrial gases and PPE.
• Identify savings opportunities within supplier relationships and monitor procurement lifecycle.
• Draft and review supplier contracts and perform TCO analysis.
• Track renewals and expiries to plan supplier engagement strategies.
