Job summary

SMS Mill Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Sourcing and Procurement professional in Portage, IN to drive end-to-end purchasing for operations. You will report to the VP of Procurement and lead category sourcing for lubricants, fuels, industrial gases, and PPE.

The role requires 5+ years in strategic sourcing or procurement within heavy industry, strong contract and vendor management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while collaborating across all levels of the

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contract management, or vendor management in a heavy industrial environment.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Undergraduate Degree.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and make priority calls as necessary.
• Comfortable working with all levels of the organization.
• Structured approach to completing work.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day procurement for operations.
• Direct end-to-end sourcing activities for categories such as lubricants, fuel, industrial gases and PPE.
• Identify savings and broader value opportunities within supplier relationships and monitor assessment activities as part of the sourcing lifecycle.
• Draft and review supplier contracts to ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
• Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
• Renewal contract negotiation - track contracts for renewals and expiries in advance to formulate appropriate supplier engagement strategies.
