Job summary

CareFirst is seeking an experienced Sourcing Specialist to execute medium to complex procurement projects from initiation through contract closure. You will lead cross-functional teams, run RFx processes, and negotiate agreements to optimize total cost of ownership while aligning with budgets and policies.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 5+ years in strategic sourcing, and familiarity with Ariba and procurement tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 4 years of additional relevant work experience may substitute.
• Experience in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Familiarity with MS Excel, spend analysis and procurement systems.
• Knowledge of procurement laws and contract terms (SOWs, MSAs, SLAs).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve savings.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to complex sourcing projects from start to finish.
• Perform market, benchmark and spend analyses to drive savings.
• Negotiate contracts and service agreements with suppliers.
• Collaborate with business units and legal to finalize MSAs and SLAs.
