Job description

Position summary:

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. The Senior Strategic Partnership Manager is located in New York, NY and will drive strategic partnerships and business strategies.

• Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Identification, evaluation, and execution of new business and technology opportunities through strategic partnerships for defined third party companies. Leads the analysis of complex customer/market/business project opportunities, assessment of key players and technologies, development of differentiated product/service strategies, creation of financial/business models, and, most importantly, development of commercial structures and enablement paths to create new and evolve existing relationships with strategic partners.
  2. Structures and drives strategic partnerships and new business relationships including development of key economic, business, and operational terms.
  3. Partners closely with Procurement, Legal and other teams in negotiating and executing contracts with technology and business partners, along with close coordination with Product and Marketing/go-to-market teams in integrating and operationalizing for frontline sales and support teams.
  4. Manages senior-level relationships internally and externally with key players in the mobile industry, in both established and emerging segments and ecosystems, in formulating and creatively evolving strategic partnerships.
  5. Develops product portfolio expertise in domains vital to T-Mobile’s core growth strategies.
  6. Formulates recommendations and leads pursuit of new opportunities, technologies, business models etc., by effectively establishing, managing and driving partner programs across joint cross-functional teams.
  7. Builds strong and trusted relationships with designated strategic partners.
  8. Adept at working well with small and large firms and equally effective in pursuing work at varying levels within these companies, including up to C-level executives.
  9. Develops strategic frameworks to evolve existing partnerships to drive unique and differentiated product offerings.
  10. Works with internal and external stakeholders to deliver against identified priorities (notably revenue and subscriber acquisition targets) for both short term and long-term objectives.
  11. Oversees strategic cross-functional programs or initiatives, including managing and leading teams, to drive growth and success of the business.
Minimum requirements:
Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related, and 7 years of relevant work experience.

Skills requirements:
  • Must have 5 years of professional experience in strategy, business development, partnership management or alliance management experience in high-tech, engineering, or related industries using SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, industry benchmarking, scorecard development, pareto analysis, decision matrix, scenario planning, business case & investment/ROI analysis, MS PowerPoint, and executive communication.
  • 5 years of professional experience in program management, driving complex initiatives across stakeholders using planning tools (balanced scorecard/OKR, Results-Based Accountability), change management (Prosci), Gantt charts, MS Project, PMP certification.
  • 5 years of experience in negotiating and facilitating complex contracts such as master service agreements, SOWs, amendments, MOUs, resell/managed service agreements using Ariba, DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat, and procurement processes.
  • 5 years of experience managing a portfolio of external technology partners across the partnership lifecycle, using tools like CRM, SAP, Oracle, SharePoint.
  • Experience in developing and executing product launch plans with partners, assessing and implementing commercial models, using business model analysis, financial modeling, stakeholder mapping, CRM, and go-to-market planning tools.
  • Ability to analyze complex market and customer data, using industry knowledge including networking, TCP/IP protocols, devices, cloud computing, and analytics tools like Power BI, SAP Business Objects, MS Excel, MS SQL Server.

  • Location: New York, NY
  • Telecommuting permitted; work from the site at least 3-4 days/week. No international travel expected.

  • Work hours: 40 hours/week. Salary: $155,542 to $194,400 annually.
  • The pay range is general; actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
  • Eligible for bonuses, stock grants, and comprehensive benefits as outlined.

  • Travel: No travel required.

Candidate’s pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
