Position summary:

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. The Senior Strategic Partnership Manager, located in New York, NY, will drive strategic partnerships and business strategies.

• Telecommuting is permitted, but the applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Identification, evaluation, and execution of new business and technology opportunities through strategic partnerships for defined third-party companies. Leads the analysis of complex customer/market/business project opportunities, assessment of key players and technologies, development of differentiated product/service strategies, creation of financial/business models, and development of commercial structures and enablement paths to create new and evolve existing relationships with strategic partners.

  2. Structures and drives strategic partnerships and new business relationships including development of key economic, business, and operational terms.

  3. Partners closely with Procurement, Legal, and other teams in negotiating and executing contracts with technology and business partners, along with coordination with Product and Marketing/go-to-market teams for integration and operationalization for frontline sales and support teams.

  4. Manages senior-level relationships internally and externally with key players in the mobile industry, in both established and emerging segments and ecosystems, in formulating and creatively evolving strategic partnerships.

Minimum requirements:

Experience and education requirements:

  • PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related, and 7 years of relevant work experience.

Skills requirements: Requires experience in each of the following:

  • 5 years of professional experience in strategy, business development, partnership management, or alliance management in high-tech, engineering, or related industries, using SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, industry benchmarking, scorecard development, pareto analysis, decision matrix, scenario planning, business case & investment/ROI analysis, MS PowerPoint, and executive briefing/communications.

  • 5 years of professional experience in program management, driving complex initiatives across stakeholders using planning tools (balanced scorecard/OKR, Results-Based Accountability), change management (Prosci), Gantt charts, MS Project, PMP certification.

  • 5 years of experience in structuring and negotiating complex contracts (e.g., master service agreements, SOWs, amendments, MOUs, resell agreements) using Ariba, DocuSign, Adobe Acrobat, and procurement processes.

  • 5 years managing a portfolio of external technology partners across the partnership lifecycle, using tools like CRM, SharePoint, SAP, Oracle, and process mapping (MS Visio, IBM Blueworks).

  • Experience in developing and executing product launch plans with partners, assessing commercial models, and using business model analysis, financial modeling, stakeholder mapping, and product lifecycle management tools.

  • Ability to analyze complex market, industry, and customer data, leveraging telecom/tech industry knowledge including networking, TCP/IP, cloud computing, and analytics tools like Power BI, SAP Business Objects, MS Excel, MS SQL Server.

  • Location: New York, NY

  • Telecommuting permitted with minimum on-site work 3-4 days/week; no international travel expected.
