Job summary

The Clearing, Inc. is seeking a Strategic Communications Subject Matter Expert (Senior Principal) to guide cradle-to-grave communications for a federal Front Office client in Arlington, VA.

The role requires senior-level judgment, exceptional writing, and the ability to shape narratives across government stakeholders and the public. You will develop enterprise strategies, craft executive briefings, manage branding and messaging, support congressional engagement, and lead change-adoption efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, or related field.
• 15+ years of strategic communications and public affairs experience.
• Experience with government relations and congressional engagement.
• Experience in branding, messaging architecture, and change-adoption.

Responsibilities

• Advise Front Office on communications priorities and messaging.
• Develop enterprise strategic communications strategies to support mission expansion.
• Create executive-level products such as briefing books, talking points, and strategy documents.
• Lead brand strategy, positioning, and campaign materials.
• Plan stakeholder research, messaging tests, and workforce engagement.
• Coordinate with interagency, international partners, and public audiences.
