Job summary

Gresham Smith, Inc. is seeking a Senior Stormwater Engineer in the Dallas area to lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design engineering plans, and manage regulatory submissions. You will work within a national stormwater practice focusing on H&H modeling, master planning, flood mitigation, and erosion control across the Midwest and Southeast regions.

The role requires 6+ years of stormwater experience, a P.E. license, and strong proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and H&H software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of civil engineering experience focusing on stormwater design and modeling.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licen­se is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with HEC-RAS (1D/2D), HEC-HMS, EPA/XP/PC SWMM, InfoWorks, ArcGIS Pro.
• Active membership in professional societies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for a variety of stormwater projects, including watershed studies and floodplain analyses.
• Lead the design and preparation of engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Lead the preparation of reports and other technical documentation.
• Assist in EPSC plans and development of SWPPPs.
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Conduct fieldwork, including site assessments and construction observation.
• Support QA/QC of designs, reports, and calculations.
• Present project information at client and community meetings.
• Coordinate design development and provide technical direction to junior staff.
• Mentor and train junior staff.
