Job summary

The Sr. Design Specialist at The Save Mart Companies in Modesto, CA will support the design, layout, and visual planning for new stores, remodels, and special projects.

The role ensures environments reflect the brand, standards, and customer experience goals while balancing functionality, aesthetics, and cost-efficiency. Requires at least 5 years of relevant experience, a 4-year degree or equivalent in Architecture/Interior Design, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Architecture, Interior Design, Environmental Design, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Travel up to 10% to grocery stores.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain division prototypical drawings and files using AutoCad
• Identify and document props, furniture, hardware and lighting using design methodologies
• Use artistic skills or computer-aided design (CAD) packages to create visuals and plans
• Translate leadership concepts and ideas into the creation and direction of all corporate & vendor fixturing programs. Research and recommend innovations in layout, fixture design, sustainability, and customer experience relevant to the grocery industry.
• Provide support to resolve and respond to team members’ and store issues regarding design and presentation issues
