A leading company is seeking a Senior Solution Delivery Architect for Mainframe Storage to oversee Disaster Recovery testing and ensure readiness of Tape and DASD. The role requires extensive experience in mainframe environments and involves designing solutions, managing projects, and serving as a key expert during testing phases. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of storage management and disaster recovery processes.
Employee Senior Solution Delivery Architect – Mainframe Storage Disaster Recovery
A successful candidate for this position should have 8+ years of senior-level experience working within a z/OS environment supporting Tape and DASD functions. Senior-level knowledge of mainframe storage management environments like DFSMS, FDR/ABR, CA-1, DFRMM, or equivalent is required. Experience supporting Disaster Recovery within a mainframe environment is essential. The candidate should understand data migration between subsystems for Tape and DASD and have experience opening tickets with vendors such as IBM. Must be self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, particularly in creating shareable documents, is necessary. Familiarity with data replication concepts is also required.
The successful candidate must be familiar with CSM (Copy Services Manager) and IBM GRID technology. Experience with DELL PMAX, VMAX, and DLM is helpful. Some experience with Luminex recovery is a plus but not mandatory. The candidate should be able to design storage solutions to meet client and business needs and lead projects to improve storage environments. They will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert during client Disaster Recovery testing.
The Senior Solution Delivery Architect for Mainframe Storage will ensure Tape and DASD are prepared for Disaster Recovery testing. Responsibilities include managing FLASH storage or pausing replication before testing, responding to issues during testing, and documenting lessons learned. The role involves engaging with new client migrations to prepare for future DR tests and serving as an escalation point for storage issues during testing. Testing is scheduled months in advance, and support outside of active tests is rare, with minimal after-hours work expected.
Occasional weekend work, scheduled in advance. No regular 24x7 or on-call support outside active DR testing.
