Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Storage Administrator / Engineer to support a highly secure government contracting environment focused on enterprise storage, backup, and SAN infrastructure operations.

The role leads storage operations, troubleshooting, and security compliance efforts, ensuring mission-critical storage environments remain reliable. It requires 10+ years in storage roles, TS/SCI clearance, and expertise with NetBackup, Cohesity, Commvault, Rubrik, SAN, and backup technologies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in storage administration or related roles.
• Hands-on with enterprise backup solutions including NetBackup, Cohesity, Commvault, and Rubrik.
• Experience with Oracle ZFS, NetApp, VAST Data, and IBM storage arrays.
• Experience with SAN environments, zoning, and CLI diagnostics.
• Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification or higher.
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance required.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer support skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced enterprise infrastructure with minimal supervision.

Responsabilités

• Monitor, manage, and maintain enterprise backup platforms (NetBackup, Cohesity, Commvault, Rubrik).
• Onboard new physical servers and VMs into backup environments and resolve issues.
• Configure and deploy new backup solutions and technologies as required.
• Troubleshoot backup appliances and storage systems (Oracle ZFS, NetApp, VAST Data, IBM).
• Manage SAN issues using CLI and zoning techniques; support Brocade SAN switches.
• Partner with ISSOs to ensure storage vulnerabilities are remediated for compliance.
• Support SSP reauthorization efforts and provide required documentation.
• Participate in a scheduled rotational on-call support rotation.
• Create and maintain operational docs, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures.
