Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. seeks a senior Storage Engineer to design, deploy, and support NetApp storage and backup platforms in Laurel, MD. The role requires TS/SCI w/ Polygraph and 12+ years in IT, with a technical BS (or 8 years extra experience in lieu of a degree).

Qualifications

• Security+ certification is required.
• 12 years of experience in the IT field.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or 8 additional years of IT experience may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support storage and backup platforms and management tools.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot storage systems and related technologies.
• Adhere to engineering standards and participate in technical reviews.
• Evaluate, deploy, manage, and integrate new technologies with engineers and architects.
• Provide incident support and participate in on-call rotations.
• Create and maintain documentation including diagrams and runbooks.
• Oversee installation of new storage hardware/software per SOPs.
• Ensure monitoring and review of capacity, performance, and utilization metrics.
• Stay updated on storage/backup tech to guide federal clients' future direction.
