Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Lead System Administrator – Storage to own the architecture, implementation, and operations of our enterprise storage across on‑prem and cloud environments. This role will act as a technical leader for storage technologies, ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of mission‑critical data platforms.

You will partner with infrastructure, application, database, security, and cloud teams to deliver reliable storage solutions that support the Mercy ministry,

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of storage engineering experience with a focus on NetApp technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/IT or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement storage solutions to meet Mercy requirements.
• Configure and maintain storage environments.
• Monitor storage performance and tune for optimal operation.
• Manage data protection, backup, and recovery using enterprise tools.
• Ensure storage security and regulatory compliance.
• Provide 24/7 storage issue support and remediation.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate storage with applications and databases.
• Perform regular upgrades and patching of NetApp systems.
• Maintain detailed storage documentation and procedures.
• Leverage automation tools and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell).
