Job summary

MANTECH in Laurel, MD seeks a Senior Storage Architect to lead storage design, deployment, and optimization for IC projects. You will evolve storage infrastructures, manage provisioning and availability at government sites, and align with IPTs and vendors on enterprise data center services.

Required 15+ years in storage ops/architecture, SAN/NAS/FC/iSCSI expertise, and DoD 8140 IAM II or equivalent certs. This role demands leadership, security clearance, and hands-on engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; 5 years storage ops can substitute for degree.
• 15+ years' experience in storage operations or storage architecture.
• Experience with SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage implementations.
• Proficiency with storage solutions including block, NFS, SIF, S3, ShareFile, NAS.
• Strong understanding of hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, RAID, I/O.
• Experience connecting storage arrays to hypervisors (Nutanix, VMware VCF, OpenStack).
• IAM II certification (DoD 8140) or comparable certifications (CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP).

Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Storage Architect to join our team in Laurel, MD.

Join Mantech’s mission-focused national security team delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce. This role will support the Intelligence Community’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) platform in Maryland. This role supports infrastructure associated with Data Center & Computing Services, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver services to Mantech’s customers in the IC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support various storage and backup platforms and associated management tools.

• Participate in the evaluation, deployment, management, and integration of new technologies in alignment with other engineers, architects, and technical service lanes.

• Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the development of new storage infrastructure and Information Lifecycle Management designs, including requirements and analysis.

• Shares ownership of the operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability at government customer site with the Customer/Government Storage Manager.

• Keep abreast of current developments in storage and backup technology to assist Federal staff in assessing the future direction of storage and backup technology.

• Responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans that will be delivered on an ongoing basis.

• Create and maintain documentation: logical/physical diagrams, run books, and other technical engineering documents.

• Performs end-to-end analysis on the performance of the storage infrastructure, presents findings, and submits recommendations for improvement.

Minimum/Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in a technical field is required. An additional 5 years of experience in storage operations might be substituted for degree.

• 15+ years' experience in storage operations or storage architecture

• Experience with SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel and iSCSI storage implementations.

• Proven proficiency in storage solutions including but not limited to block, nfs, sif, s3, sharefile systems, and nas.

• Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet.

• Experience connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies (NUTANIX, VMWARE VCF, OpenStack).

• IAM II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment. Acceptable certifications includeCCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 20 years' experience in overall storage operations or storage architecture. 10 years of experience in the specific storage technology that is in the customer environment.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a current active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
