Veterans Health Administration’s VA Medical Center in Hampton, VA seeks a Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Pro Advanced) to perform decontamination, sterilization, and high-level disinfection of complex endoscopic instrumentation across GI, bronchoscopy, urology, and the operating room.

You will assemble trays, select sterilizing methods, conduct biological monitoring, lead peer training, and maintain records to ensure readiness, safety, and compliance. Rotating shifts, on-site schedule.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, sterilization, and high-level disinfection of complex endoscopic instrumentation across GI, bronchoscopy, urology, and operating room.
• Sterile preparation via inspection, assembly, packaging, and terminal sterilization of trays, sets, and packs.
• Assemble simple to very complex instrument sets (up to ~90 instruments); include ENT micro-surgical sets.
• Select sterilizing methods for delicate equipment and prepare trays for wards, clinics, dental, and surgery.
• Consider surgery and clinic schedules and turnaround times to stock items; process implant devices; quarantine implants as needed.
• Decontaminate items by removing contaminants using washing, soaking, ultrasonic, and other approved methods; ensure proper cleaning and disinfection.
