Job summary

Hims, Inc. is seeking a Senior Formulation Scientist to lead sterile injectable and peptide formulation development. You will guide strategy, oversee lab-to-commercial transfers, and ensure robust stability programs that meet CGMP standards.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with MS&T, Quality, and Regulatory teams, focusing on scalable, compliant formulations and lifecycle management. This is a senior technical role with mentorship responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with 6–8+ years industry experience, or BS/MS with 8–10+ years in sterile injectable development.
• Hands-on peptide formulation for parenteral administration (solutions, suspensions, lyophilized).
• Experience with sterile injectable drug products and container-closure selection.
• Understanding of peptide degradation pathways and stability-indicating methods.
• ICH Q1A(R2)/Q5C, USP/FDA 503B stability studies experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation and process development for sterile injectables and peptide products (solutions, suspensions, LAI).
• Design pre-formulation studies and forced-degradation for peptide stability.
• Develop stability programs and justify BUD for compounded products.
• Input into peptide API selection and make-vs-buy evaluations with cross-functional teams.
• Plan lab- and pilot-scale studies on feasibility, freeze-thaw, and container compatibility.
• Author reports and development summaries for regulatory filings and decisions.
• Coordinate tech transfer of sterile formulations across sites with MS&T and QA.
• Support CAPA investigations related to peptide stability and quality.
