Job summary

HarborFab in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Senior Estimator for the steel fabrication division. The role focuses on conceptual estimates, bid preparation, and developing scopes of work for projects from design through fabrication and erection.

You will analyze blueprints and specifications to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates, track drawings, and ensure competitive bids through market awareness and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience in steel fabrication estimating (minimum 5 years).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of fabrication and erection processes in steel projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and specs to prepare time, cost and labor estimates.
• Manage drawings and project documents from design to final issuance for bids.
• Prepare itemized material and labor lists and compute cost factors.
• Conduct value engineering and prepare schedules of values for bids.
• Review quotes and monitor market trends to maintain competitiveness.
• Assist in development of bid packages and budgets for proposals.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams on estimates.
