Job summary

Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks a Facilities Engineer for Steam Plant Systems to support the Mechanical Utilities Complex. The role serves as the resident authority on engineering matters for generation and distribution equipment and interfaces with operations, maintenance, subcontractors, customers, and ORNL management.

Responsibilities include directing maintenance and outages, supporting predictive maintenance, ensuring safety and environmental controls, and guiding junior professionals.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering; ABET-accredited college or university.
• Minimum five years of utility/power plant operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight for mechanical utilities complex projects and manage small to medium projects within the Division.
• Support development of energy conservation strategies and other performance improvements to reduce costs for utilities and other facility services.
• Work with operations, maintenance, subcontractors, customers, and ORNL management to provide solutions for technical problems.
