Job summary

Con Edison is seeking a strong, safety-focused leader to supervise 8 to 12 union mechanics responsible for the operation and maintenance of the steam distribution system.

This role oversees workforce scheduling, materials and equipment, regulatory compliance, emergency response, customer service, and maintenance activities while minimizing impacts on city events, traffic, and community operations.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and people-management skills to supervise union mechanics.
• Knowledge of steam distribution systems and safety practices.
• Experience with HAZWOPER First Responder activities and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise 8–12 union mechanics in operation and maintenance of the steam distribution system.
• Oversee workforce scheduling, materials and equipment management, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate emergency response, customer service and maintenance activities while minimizing impacts on city operations.
