Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in stand-alone Short and/or Long-Term Disability claims.
• Disability Appeals experience preferred.
• College Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of ERISA appeal requirements and state disability requirements.
• Superior customer service, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Collaborates effectively across departments and can work independently.
• Proficient with claim systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assign caseload of disability appeals.
• Utilize internal and external clinical, vocational, and legal resources.
• Provide high level customer service internally and externally.
• Apply contractual provisions accurately.
• Maintain organized workflow in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop differentiated appeals plans for optimal outcomes.
• Provide direct feedback on claim handling as needed.
• Identify opportunities for improved claim management.
